Girls Boys Like

Kinda funny how the title is my favorite band twisted around. But anyway...I was fortunate enough to be able to hang out with mostly guys yesterday at the beach (so fun!). Rachel invited me. The others were her boyfriend Tim and his friends Matt (already knew), Brenden (had heard of), and Jeff (totally new). I don't hang out with guys a lot because I tend to get shy, but if they're mixed with people I do know, like Rachel and Tim, it's okay. After a little while, I got used to the idea I was surrounded by boys and started to speak up more. We ended up playing games. First, one which involved running around and a soccer ball (it wasn't soccer), and then "talking games." (That's what I called it anyway). The popular ones like "Would You Rather" and "Truth or Truther." Or the plain "Question Game." And it was actually interesting playing with these guys. It made me think back to the night of Relay for Life and how a group of us played "Truth or Dare." Wanna know who Jeff thought was the hottest celebrity?

This is the prettiest picture I found of her, but it's all airbrushed. So here's another...
She looks pretty old now, though. (These are younger versions of her). Rachel said she thought Gerard Butler was the hottest which I thought was pretty horrific. He's way old! At least in his forties, right?! I said Penn Badgley just because he was the first guy I thought of. But I really wouldn't date anyone who was a celebrity. I would feel too much pressure to be perfect all the time, afraid of what his fans thought of me, and always feel as if I was less important than him. Plus he would be so busy on set surrounded by pretty girls...I couldn't handle it. We would probably last about two months. Tops.
Another interesting thing I found out was that the boys think that Brad Pitt is the man to be, and Bruce Willis is the man to admire. Brad Pitt is with Angelina (that's what they said out loud anyway) and Willis saved the world in his movie Armageddon. Haha, the way boys' minds work.
That about wraps it up...and I get to see them again next week for a fun-filled day at Six Flags Great Adventure! Can't wait. :)

All Dressed Up And Nowhere to Go

At around 2:00 pm, I called Kristin to ask if she wanted to go shopping with me. And she said she had to wait for her dad to come home, which would be around 3:30 pm. We hung up around 2:30 pm...we would have so much time to talk at Kohls...I cleaned the bathroom and living room to make my mom happy...if I was out, that meant I had little time at home to actually clean. So I put the feather duster down and turned the music up...and picked out a shirt/skirt combo I thought appropriate for shopping and the chilly weather. I even brushed my hair and put on makeup...who knows who I would run into?! And it's my basic principle to look good whenever I go out anywhere. Well 3:30 passes. Then 3:45. Then 4:00. It's 4:10 and I finally call her. She says her father came and went quickly, and she didn't get a chance to ask him. I was offended she didn't think to call me and report this. Then she said her mother just walked in and she could ask her. I heard the phone drop on a hard surface, and imagined her running downstairs to her mother. She comes back and reports her parents made plans for the family to go out tonight, so she couldn't come. I was furious. I got all excited, planning what I would buy and the possibilities of who I could run into...and she can't come! And now I have to face my parents and tell them I only cleaned the bathroom and living room and I've been sitting around all day listening to music and playing dress-up. :(
Not that I used lipstick...at all...more like eyeshadow and lip gloss. But it was a cool image.

Fights

For as long as I can remember, my mother and I have fought. She's always right and I'm always wrong. I always had to give in because of the threats she has made. Threats to quit the play, threats to not go to Drama Club, threats to not go to Writer's Guild, threats to not have Rachel over, threats to not go to Girl Scouts, threats to not sleep over Kristin's house, threats not to go to a party, threats not to sing in the choir...the list goes on and on. And most of the time it benefits her because she does not have to pick me up anywhere. So I take the bus home and mope around starring at the ceiling, regretting that I spoke up or acted out of the norm of quiet, sweet girl and she wins. Now there's basically nothing she can take away, short of leaving me stranded somewhere because I don't have a car yet, except housing. Dad even called downstairs, "Everyone living here rent free come help with the groceries." They obviously want me to pay rent, but besides the immature shout-outs, they won't admit to it. I asked them flat out, "What do you want me to do?" in the usual awkward confrontation where they accuse me of things that are right and everything I bring up are wrong, and they couldn't even tell me. I hate the fighting and want to move out real bad, but that wasn't part of my plan. Rent money was definitely not in the equation of my life before I graduated. But maybe it has to be...because this fighting is getting out of hand.

Brownstone Water Park

In my opinion, Portland, my hometown, doesn't have much to offer. Except a few things: mini-golf (regular golf is boring), great ice cream, and BROWNSTONE WATER PARK. It has free days for Portland residents (me!), so my family decided to go for the day. We took a short break to see the parade which was also awesome...but then it was right back to swimming, cliff-diving, slide-going-down, and climbing. And for my little brother, wake-boarding. I've never been wake-boarding before, but it was extra cost (and my mother didn't ask me if I wanted to), so I didn't wanna be a pain. But it was extra fun anyway. I jumped off the big cliff about five times. Luke was really scared at first, but then he swallowed his fear and just jumped! Even the boys he just met cheered. I needed a countdown to finally jump off the ledge, but I did it! I was mostly afraid of not jumping far enough and scrapping my back against the cliff, but that's kind of unrealistic if you think about it. My face got nice and tan (loving it). I have some scratches and bruises from climbing everywhere, and even my right foot was giving me issues, but I'm a fighter and won't let little things like these to let my down. :)

I got this from the website. :D

Dirty Feet in the Summer!

"My curfew was the lightning bugs, my mom didn't call my cell phone, she called my name. I played outside with friends, not online. If I didn't eat what mom cooked, I didn't eat. Sanitizer didn't exist but you COULD get your mouth washed out with soap. I rode a bike w/o a helmet, getting dirty was ok and neighbors cared as much as your parents. Repost if you drank from a garden hose and survived!"

This is a Facebook status that has been copied and pasted many times. I came across it and wished at that moment for a more simple time when things were all about how you approached people, not how to create the perfect text. My Nona even commented on my status saying this was what it was like when she was growing up! Now, I don't know if it's because of this quotation or the mere fact that I need to be more active, but the past few days (when it has been sunny!) I've been going outside more and more. Today I even found an old squirt gun. It started out boring at first squirting random things, but then I chased the cat with it! Which I gotta say, was greatly hilarious. I even kicked a ball around, played 2-square with my brother, played with my Frisbee randomly, and even went up to the call-de-sac (or dead end I can't spell) to check out Luke and his hand-made jump. I promised him that as soon as I got some air in my tires that I would ride with him, but I don't think I'm brave enough to actually jump anything. And I still have to be the responsible one.

I should totally wash my feet. These aren't mine (dang, I need a camera cord!), but mine look the same. ;)

Okay, change of plans. By searching "dirty feet" on Bing, they say BingSafe or whatever picks up some adult content that I don't want to see. For all I know, "dirty feet" could be a porno. And I also remembered that most people do not enjoy looking at feet. So I'm sparing you all! :)

The only bad thing from all this playing is that now I'm super hungry!

Twitter Fenzy

You know what? I just thought of something! I can totally finish a novel this summer! I have about 2 or 3 started...you know, in journals scattered across my room. I got this idea after my gross run outside around my yard...it was gross because not only was I getting sweaty from the late afternoon sun...but I spotted a piece of douche from one of the neighborhood dogs. And there were mosquitoes! Not that this has ANYTHING to do with starting a novel or Twitter...haha. Anyways, I just wanted to say I got really distracted because I tweeted about 7 times in the past 3 min. And I just took a break from writing this to tweet that I'm gonna write a novel this summer! Hooray! Hooray!!
Haha, anyways, I feel really loopy right now from NOTHING...so I'll just get back to trying to remember where I put my creative writing journal. ;)

Fat A$$

Everything about me is big. My butt. My breasts. My hips. My thighs! I even have stretch marks! I overheard the social worker saying that the most fit time of his life was in his 20s. Well, I'm not even 20 yet and I catch my breath just walking up 3 flights of stairs, running laps around the yard, or walking up a stupid hill. I mean, my dog can't even motivate me because she's a fatty, too! Of course it isn't her fault...she and I were both brought into an inactive family. The only people that really understand me are my friends. And they can't even help me if I can't help myself. This makes me think of "I Used To Be Fat," and how I told Blithe that I would pull an "I Used To Be Fat" and get skinny. And I look at the mirror at my beautiful face that I somehow got from my parents and wonder, Why can't anyone see this part of me? And I think, All I really want is love.
